DIY Multistrap Necklace

Ph, Private

Just arrived at home after a whole shopping day. I've seen too many stores today, but fulfilled and packed headed back home. Bought a lot of new furniture and accessories for our apartment and new wardrobe storage for my clothes. Tomorrow another day to set all new buys and to help my boyfriends brother and girlfriend with their newly rented flat.

But first a DIY multistrap necklace, inspired by the brown-black leather necklace from COS. I bought this COS necklace last year and my colleague was really jealous, so I made her a copy for her birthday. She is a gold girl, so for hers I choose to use gold jump-rings and suede straps.

You'll need: piece of leather (I used a belt), 12 jump-rings, leather or suede straps, round nose pliers, hammer and a nail.
1. Cut off a piece of leather that is wide enough to fit comfortable in your neck.
2. Hammer six holes on both sides on the edges of the leather, with nail and hammer. Don't forget to put a piece of cardboard underneath.
3. Slide jump rings through the holes, add pieces of suede cord (make holes at the ends if it's sturdy material) and close the jump-rings with the pliers. Note that the straps need to be long enough to put the necklace over your head, because you won't add a closure.
