Red Flowers

Ph, Private

Leather Jacket: Dept | Blouse: Maison Scotch | Tee: Hema | Trousers: Maison Scotch |
Leather bag: COS | Leather Allstars: Converse | Flower crown: DIY

I decided to go for a total red look, because I liked my own inspiration post from yesterday very much, haha! (I guess it's a good thing that I find myself really inspiring). The DIY flower crown is some late evening project, but I made photos so I will post them next week. My last exam went very well!

Have a nice sunny day!

Reddish Inspiration

 Ph, Different sources

I'm probably not the only one, but I've noticed a lot of red-tones on the streets lately (of course I haven't seen it in real life but in the online environment. I do like color, but a total red ensemble is something new to me. I'm going to try this out really soon, I bought red trousers today!

Not only on the streets, also on the runway a total red look is 'in'. Left to right, Michael Kors, Derek Lam, Céline, Ellery and Jil Sander.

Lazy Evening

Ph, Private

Leather jacket: Dept | White jacket: Humanoid | Distressed denim: DIY | Shoes: Clark Originals | Rings: DIY

Had lunch in Amsterdam with fellow communication student Nikki. In the evening I went to the movie '21 Jump Street' with the boyfriend. Some parts were kind of hilarious, others utterly predictable. All together it was a funny movie, on a lazy springlike evening.

Tomorrow I've my last exam and then all I have left is a presentation on Thursday. Then I can say goodbye to University for two months: holiday, jeej! Saturday morning I'll trade Holland for Switzerland for the  week. I'll schedule posts so I can hike in silence, I won't leave you empty handed for the rest of the week. In fact literary, because I'm preparing a lot of DIYs.

I hope to work out enough, one for each day I'm in the Swiss mountains. But we'll have to see if that is going to happen. I can already promise you that at least four DIYs are coming up next week, since I've already finished them.

Dyed Hair

Ph, Private

Like I told you earlier, I was about to dye my hair a second time. As you can see in the photos, it turned out pretty OK. The colors are much more vivid and visible. So I have to be less gentle with conditioner a next time. I don't know why but the turquoise in my bangs turned out pretty heavy, well I guess it will fade soon enough.

DIY Bow Belt

Ph, Private

This is a really easy DIY, IF.. you have the right belt. I've had this idea since forever (see this post) and have been searching for a few months to find the perfect belt to do this with. The belt needs to be long enough to make two bows. I was lucky to find one with holes in it, so it was really easy to make measurements.

You'll need: Long thin belt, revolver plier (optional, to punch holes in leather), marker two nuts and one bolt.
1. Just try out some bow ties, start from one point and twist and turn till you think you have it.
2. Mark the places were the middle is, so were the bolt needs to punch through.
3. Make holes, enlarge holes, or if the holes are OK, do nothing.
4. Stab the bolt through the layered holes and confirm by putting the nuts in place. Use two nuts (one by one)  so it will stay at the right place even while wearing.
5. Wear it with flair (hope I did this part right)

Together with my boyfriend I went to Sonsbeek Park in Arnhem, to walk a bit. I love the natural decoration of these woods, the tree stumps, the moss growing on tree trunks, the deers, the flowers and of course the rays of sunlight peeking through the canopy.

Happy New Hair

Ph, Private

Like I told you before, I was going to dye my hair. This is the result, a bleach dip with pastel tips.
I was inspired by all the pastel thing going on everywhere (seriously, open a magazine and you will find a fashion shoot about pastels in it). But I didn't want the 'regular' dip-dye with one or two colors. So I decided to put 4 colors in white hair.

The first step would be creating white tips, so, that's exactly how I begun. I tried to create a white dip dye with the La Riche Directions White Toner, but nothing happened. So I bought some highlight bleach hairdye and used it to lighten up my ends. Then I seperated my hair in different layers, with different strands within each layer and dyed those with the colors. But before I diluted the La Riche Directions colors by adding conditioner (maybe with a bit too much conditioner, but it's pastel, like I wanted).

After washing, Tadaaa, pastel hair.

Soo, what do you think?

Baseball Jacket

Ph, Private

Baseball jacket: Maison Scotch | Dress: Saks 5th Avenue | Necklace: COS | Rings + Hand-jewelry: DIY

Yesterday my boyfriend gave me this beautiful leather sleeved baseball jacket from Maison Scotch. I've been craving for it from the first moment I saw it in the shops. But since I have way to many jackets, I didn't buy it directly. But I couldn't stop thinking about how great it would be to own this jacket. The sale started and my boyfriend went to the shop directly and bought it for me. I'm so happy! I love the linen boxy fitted body and the black leather sleeves. I'm sure we are going to have a good time together!

DIY Chain Jewelry

Ph, Private

Of course you all know how to make this, so I'm not going to give you a step by step explanation.
You'll need: Different chains, closure (clasp and rings), round nose pliers and an extra one is optional.

I made two anklets, one with two different chains and a large closure and a simple version. Apart from the anklets I also made three delicate chain rings.
